Art Deco Machine Age Torchiere Lamp – USA, c. 1935 Striking American Art Deco uplight lamp reflecting the refined industrial aesthetic of the Machine Age period. The composition is defined by a large inverted conical bronze shade with white enameled interior, designed to maximize upward light diffusion. The exterior retains its original lacquered bronze surface, now showing a naturally aged patina consistent with time and use. The body rests on a cast bronze circular base and is elevated by an architectural support structure incorporating amber glass panels. When illuminated, these glass elements glow warmly, creating a secondary ambient light effect characteristic of high-quality Deco lighting design. The interplay between geometric mass, industrial materials, and illuminated glass detailing places this piece firmly within the American Deco tradition of the 1930s. Height: 16 inch or 41 cm. Diameter: 8 inch or 20 cm. Inch or 19 cm. Very good overall condition. Some light surface marking and scratching as expected from use and age. The inner white enamel paint is somewhat stained. The amber glasses are in excellent condition. The lamp has been rewired for normal use.
