1930’s Vintage Greist Table or Desk Lamp
1930’s vintage Greist table or desk lamp. Engraved on the lamp shade socket connector is Greist Lamps, Mf’d by The Greist Mfg Co, New Haven Conn, U. The lamp neck has a “pivot” that enables the lamp shade to be adjusted up and down. Lamp base and shade have an engraved leaf design which encircles the diameter of the base and shade. The lamp measures 12-1/2″ tall; the shade 5-3/4″ in diameter; the base 5-3/8 in diameter. The original paint of the lamp has been retained with areas of missing paint letting the brass shine through which adds to the vintage charm of the lamp. The paint on the inside of the lamp shade has some paint loss as well. The shade has a few minor creases/dents. The socket end cap that connects to the pivot has been “bent Inwards” on the underneath side and is therefore not readily noticeable nor does it interfere with adjusting the lamp shade. The lamp has new wiring. A 40-watt equivalent LED standard base light bulb is included and recommended to prevent the shade from getting too hot.
