Rare Vintage Applied Arts British Made Art Deco Nude Maiden Frankart Era Lamp
From a local smoke free house is this Rare vintage figural Art Deco lamp. It was made by the Applied Arts of the Russel Art Company Ltd of 20 Conduit St London ca1930. It is in the manner of Frankart lamps and is a wonderful example of high style and quality Art Deco lamps of the period. The lamp depicts a nude maiden with her hands behind her back holding a draped cloth behind her. It probably had a frosted glass panel set in the slot behind her. It has two set screws that most likely held the glass panel. The lamp is heavy spelter with a Jade green finish. It is marked on the lower back British Made Reg’d 761881. The lamp measures about 10 1/2 inches high, about 4 3/4 inches wide, and about 5 3/4 inches deep. It is fairly heavy and weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces. The lamp is in good condition with some slight paint wear or loss, some dirt on the surface, and the missing glass panel. The wiring looks like it was replaced years ago and has an inline switch.
