Antique Gold Cast Iron Art Deco Dragon Griffin Head Bridge Arm Floor Lamp
This is an original antique cast iron bridge arm floor lamp with griffin or dragon head on the bridge, ornate leafy decoration on the post, and leafy cutout patterned base. It has an old braided cord that is in good condition but some of the gold braided outer sleeve is missing see photos. There are no exposed wires and the lamp has been tested and is working. The angle of the socket is adjustable using the wing nut on the side. The bottom of the lamp is unsigned, but there is a number 4 stamped in the metal. Condition is very good, but the gold finish has acquired a darkened, aged patina and has some areas of wear. The ornate leafy decoration on the post is missing a tiny piece of metal and there appears to be a weld between the decoration and the post to hold it in place. There are no cracks, other repairs, or major damage anywhere, and the entire piece is sturdy, solid, and fully functional. The lamp stands 58″ H and measures 12″ across the arm.
