Antique Cast Iron ART DECO SALEM BROS. BOUDOIR LAMP 10 Art Nouveau Table Desk
Antique Art Deco/Art Nouveau Salem Bros. This is a very unusual and beautiful antique lamp. 10 on the underside of the base, some of the lamp is made of cast iron and the rest of other sturdy metals, some cast metals. The base of the lamp is very ornate with raised relief art deco/art nouveau characteristics, part is cast iron, a magnet sticks to it. The magnet also sticks to the very top of the metal lampshade. Some other metal on the ornate sides of the lamp shade is cast metal. The original lampshade to this lamp is magnificent with birds and leafy trees design repeating itself all around in raised relief. The lampshade is lined with a mauve colored fabric, all sewn by hand and no rips or tears, but a couple tiny holes, also some discoloration through the years. Each bird on the lampshade is painted blue in the center. Three birds have a piece missing from their tails, the rest of the shade is in very good condition with some chipping on the paint. The lampshade is painted a light gold, with the blue of the birds and at the bottom edge there is some small red embellishments. The lamp is approx. 12-1/2 tall, the base measures approx. The shade measures approx. 5-1/2 at the tallest point. Lamp is in working condition but needs a new plug, possibly a new cord for safety purposes. The paint is chipped and worn at places. Fabric in the lamp shade has some small, random spots at places and some small random marks at a few places. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have about this item and/or supply photos.
