HANOTS / VERLYS FRENCH 1930 ART DECO CHANDELIER. Pair available. Muller era

A nickel plated bronze or solid brass1925-35 french art deco ceiling fixture with a large bowl by. Holophane was a huge glass factory making a wide range of glassware both industrial and artistic. Their high quality pieces for house decoration and lighting were distributed under the brands. This pendant holds a rare Hanots bowl in thick pressed-moulded frosted glass in a typical art deco design. The pattern is called. (the arches) in the old Holophane catalogs. The Arceaux vases and coupes were signed Verlys and the bowl for lighting have the Hanots signature. The chandelier is 44 cm (17-21/64″) high and the bowl has a diameter of 39 cm (15-23/64″). The pendant is in very good condition. I have renickeled and patinated the mount and it comes rewired with a US standard socket. For European countries I will place a E27 one. In spite of what sellers of unrestored pieces of poor quality claim in their ads when they offer lamps with bayonet caps sockets : except for the UK and Australia French chandeliers and lamps need to be rewired for your country. In order to fit Edison large or small screw base bulbs as used in the USA, B22 sockets have to be replaced by American candelabra base or standard/medium size Edison screw-in sockets. E14 and E27 are modern replacements for European countries. An additional complication is that the size thread used in early French lighting to connect the sockets to the chandelier mountings or lamp bases is not compatible with the modern size threads used in the USA and Europe. New American or European sockets do not just screw on to the old lamp fixtures. In order to make it possible to use an original old French chandelier or lamp with modern screw bulb bases, a specialized restorer will have to re-tap the threads. All my cleaned and restored chandeliers, sconces and lamps come rewired with the correct sockets you will need to use modern bulbs in your country. Bancal & Verreries des Hanots. The shades are unsigned, like many Hanots models but represented in their old catalogs. The mounts can be found in a 1930 catalog of René Bancal a wholesale for electriciens in Toulouse France. The wall sconces are 20,3 cm high (8 inches) and they project 18 cm from the wall. Art Deco exceptional french religious St Theresa glass luminaire lamp, from 1930, by Verlys(attribued) famous french Art glass factory, limited edition of this lamp made of intaglio clear and frosted glass ornated with a beautiful portrait of St Theresa of Jesus Child. The base is made of chromed bronze, with its original electrical system. Rare lamp for collectors. Condition: It is in a very nice antique condition, see photos. Size: total height 7 inch, 178 mm.
