Vintage Art Deco Flying Saucer Desk Lamp – Metallic Gold Finish. Striking vintage desk lamp featuring a classic flying saucer shade with strong Art Deco and military-inspired design. Finished in a warm metallic gold tone, this lamp has wonderful sculptural lines and a solid all-metal construction that gives it real presence on a desk or table. The lamp measures approximately 15 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches wide at the shade. It features a tilting shade for directional light and an original turn switch marked with an “F”, a detail commonly found on higher-quality American lamp components of the era. Fitted with a brown cord and tested – fully functional and ready to use. Condition is excellent for its age, with light surface wear consistent with vintage use and no damage. All the products of the GAC collection are created by hand by skilled artisans. They are not, like most products today, stamped with of industrial dies by electronically controlled machines. The silver lamp is made of solid brass and then plated with zinc followed with a heavy application of nickel silver. This craftsmanship ensures an everlasting affect and shine, so no need to polish this standing lamp ever! It’s a tall lamp, standing 21.5 inches high, and the lamp light comes to insert 2 lights, no more than 40 watts each. The 2 lamps add brightness and even distribution. This makes this reading lamp the perfect lamp for bedroom, living room, side table lamp, silver bedroom lamp, and a great office lamp. Its famous Chrysler design reflects the art deco period of the roaring 20-30s. Entertaining was then at a high in every home. The style is a traditional lamp, with tons of intricate detail and has the authentic look of a brass lamp from the early 1900s. The base is 3 tiered. This shows its intricate style and adds weight as well. A heavy base ensures a secure hold and prevents the lamp from slipping around and shaking when using. The lamp shade is all nickel as well and square shaped. The legs are tall from the base to the lamp shade and gives it a majestic look. GAC products are built to last!
