RARE Vtg Green Glass & Bronze Emeralite? ROLL TOP DESK Piano LAMP. RARE Vtg Green Glass Shade & Bronze Verdelite? The lamp features a very ornate weighted round base, bronze fixed stem (this lamp can not be made to “stand up” like a regular bankers lamp) and arms, and a pivoting green cased (white lined) glass shade. I haven’t been able to find a maker’s mark, but there are 2 tiny remnants of a green manufacturers sticker on the inside of the shade. The porcelain pull chain socket seems original, though the cord is a modern replacement, and the lamp works well. A couple of the screws are probably replacements. There are some tiny chips along the bottom edge of the shade (pic 23), and there are a few little bumps in the glass that occurred during the manufacturing process (pics 21-22). There is also a spot on the base that has been soldered, perhaps to cover a hole from a rotary switch. The felt on the bottom is coming loose and should be replaced. Lastly, while the base is weighted and quite heavy it is still slightly tippy. I found that placing a stack of 2-3 pennies under the front edge fixes the problem. You can see in the last picture that the shade is removed by loosening the 2 side screws and lifting it off. Please see all pictures for additional details. Vintage or Antique Desk or Workbench Lamp. Freshly rewired, working well and looking amazing. A fun barn find, the finish has been scrubbed just to get rid of the crud it was covered in, and to reveal the subtle copper plating still existing beneath. The marble base is gorgeous and is a wonderful complement to the copper color. We don’t see any maker’s marking, however this lamp seems to be from the Emeralite / Faries / Verdelite era. It has been freshly rewired and is ready for a new life with you. The shade angle is adjustable. New felt bottom to protect your furniture. The marble base is a replacement from another vintage/antique lamp, as the original marble piece was chipped. If you want to see that original piece in order to verify the age or maker, send us a message. The lamp uses one standard-base light bulb up to 60 watts.
