This ANTIQUE Art Deco Dancing Pixie Lamp “Gerado” by J. Hirsch is a unique and stylish hand painted piece that embodies the Art Deco movement of the 1920’s. With a vibrant, delightful design, marble base, glass dome, and metal sculptures, this accent pixie lamp is sure to add a touch of antique charm to any space. The pixie is wearing a dance outfit with a tutu skirt and a floral embellished top with hood, and is in a classic dancer’s pose. The lamp’s original design and craftsmanship by creative artist J. Hirsch make it a collectible item for those who appreciate classic lighting pieces with a touch of whimsy. Although this is not the original alabaster shade, it is a beautifully domed, cut glass shade measuring 5 in height and is consistent with the Art Deco period. It sits atop an alabaster ring attached to the metallic columns (shade is not attached). The glass shade measures 11″ in width and 6″ in height, and is quite unusual – I’ve never seen one like it! It gives a lovely prismatic effect to the lighting. The 46 white cord does not have an on/off toggle, but the lamp works perfectly. The lamp with shade measures 13″ in height, 11″ in width and has a 7 diameter marble base. There is very slight paint loss to the pixie and the pillars, consistent with its antique age.
