Very fine piece of genuine art deco lighting with a lot of character. Very decorative, circular, stepped base with built-in geometric metal stabilizer arms, and fine wool mix green baize base covering. Original on-base Bakelite on/off push switch. Beautiful circular profiled chrome plated column with upper & lower end plates. Original 1930s British made brown Bakelite B22 bayonet fit bulb holder. Vintage 1930s (Veritas) registered design ventilated Gas gallery with original locking bolts. Early art deco dome shaped Opaline white milk glass shade. Original 1930s “MK” white Bakelite three-round pin plug with early cord grip. Professionally re-wired in a period match two-core silk braided twist cable, tested, and in perfect working order. A stunning Art Deco blue marbled glass globe ceiling light with concentric ribbing edged in gold. We have included a new chrome gallery and earthed bayonet bulb holder and 1m of twisted 3-core chestnut brown flex. Sourced in France, this is a truly beautiful piece of 1930s lighting, which would look excellent in any room in the house, as well as a statement piece in a shop, cafe or other retail space. The globe measures approx 22cm across and 22cm high. Condition is excellent for its age, with just some wear on the gilding (pictured) and a small chip in the rim (also pictured) which doesn’t show once the gallery is in place. This excellent example of Art Deco lighting has a mottled effect with gold Saturn type bands. It comes with its original chrome gallery which has all the screws. There are some slight paint spots which are easily enough removed. The glass shade is about seven inches wide and in very good condition being free from chips cracks or stun marks. Opaline Glass Pendant Light. A superb example of an Art Deco era glass ceiling light. It is an attractive shape and has its original chrome gallery stamped’Made in England’. The light is made to hang from the ceiling on a chain and has been wired with a simple hanging flex cord and modern bayonet bulb holder. This makes it easy to adapt or hang over an existing flex. It comes with a good length of its original chain. The light is in good condition with no damages apart from a few small nibbles around the rim. The chrome has worn in places on the gallery and some red is showing through from beneath. The light is ready to install but we always recommend that the light is checked and wired by a professional electrician. Diameter of Light : 12 (30cm). Height including Gallery : 11 (28cm).
