Vintage Art Deco kneeling nude figural lamp, cast in spelter with a bronzed patina finish, hands clasped behind her head, on a stepped chevron-motif base. Paired with a frosted geometric stepped/pyramid glass shade. Features an original period knurled turn-knob switch supporting authenticity. Condition: paint loss at back of neck, hairline crack and small void at hip seam with minor patina loss, age-consistent wear throughout, cord appears to be a later replacement.

Equal parts lamp and sculpture, this striking vintage Art Deco Revival table lamp features a sleek seated female figure holding an uplight bowl in her outstretched arms. The dramatic elongated pose, smooth black finish, stylized draped skirt, and stepped architectural pedestal give it a strong 1920s-30s Art Deco look, though the piece itself is a later revival example, most likely dating from the late 20th century. The lamp has been tested and WORKS. It is currently shown with a standard modern bulb for demonstration purposes. This lamp should be used with a LIGHTWEIGHT dome/shade only, such as resin, acrylic, plastic, or another lightweight material. A heavy glass dome is too much weight for the figure’s extended arms and fitter assembly and is not recommended. Shade is not included. Style: Art Deco Revival. Approximate era: Late 1970s-1990s. Material: Black resin/acrylic-type molded material with electrical components and a stepped base. Black sculptural female figure. Seated / kneeling pose with outstretched arms. Stepped pedestal base. Uplight bowl/socket assembly. Standard electric cord with inline switch. Tested and working. Bulb shown for demonstration only. Shade/dome not included. Recommended shade: lightweight resin, acrylic, plastic, or similar material. Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear, scuffs, and finish variation. The underside/base shows cracking and age-related wear as pictured. There is visible wear around the socket/fitter area. Lamp remains functional and has been tested successfully. Very nice looking vintage Art Deco lamp attributed to Olive Kooken. This great deco lamp is made of thick ceramic with a heavy bronze patina over the base. A nude female figure is draped over the base giving this a sophisticated and slightly Risque look. Minor wear and natural age darkening to the original finish. Great age patina that only comes from genuine age. Both pull chain sockets are old and period, but they are not a perfect match. One is a Bryant socket. Both work very well and add to the class of this old lamp. The cord was replaced some time ago but appears to be in good working condition. The overall height at the top of the finial is 21 1/2. The base is 10 in diameter at the widest point. Great old lamp to add to your home or collection. Olive Kooken was an American sculptor active primarily in the mid-20th century, best known for her work on. Produced for companies such as. Early Life and Education.
