For sale is an absolutely wonderful circa 1930’s – 1940’s Belgian art deco pottery lamp. This gorgeous lamp made by Belgian artist and designer Antoine DuBois (1869- 1949). The lamp with a four point quatrefoil (4 star) shape with gorgeous leaf and berry painted decorations around. The surface having a wonderful crackle pattern to it. The lamp with its original electrical cord which works fine but we always recommend replacing older wiring with new modern wiring. The lamp turns on and off perfectly fine as depicted in our photo section. The lamp in overall good condition with no chips or cracks noted. Fresh from an estate home in Orange County in upstate New York in the Hudson Valley. Could use a light cleaning. Height (Pottery) – 6 1/2. Height (Total) – 9 1/2. Width – 6 1/8. C1930’s FEDERAL GLASS CO Frosted Horse Head Night Light Lamp Art Deco Bookend. MAKER: Federal Glass Company circa 1930’s. MATERIAL: Frosted Glass with Wooden Base. PIECE NAME: Horse Head Lamp (I believe these lamps used a standard Federal Glass Co Horse Head bookend). DIMENSIONS: 7 1/4″ tall – base is 6 1/2″ by 4. CONDITION: Lightbulb is not included. Base is in great condition and the lamp work that said I would recommend having it rewired for safety’s sake. Glass has surface wear and scratches and flakes and chips around the base – that said, all of the chips and flakes are hidden by the lip of the wooden base. From the 1930s, this iconic mushroom shaped lamp with it’s two tier base, conical stem & domed top is so typical of the art deco period. Although it works fine, it still has it’s original wiring therefore should be checked before putting into regular use. It has no major damage, just minor age related wear, & there is a small area of dicolouration to the base as shown in the last photo. It measures 21.5cm high x 14cm wide.
