It is rare to find one of these complete and in full working order. It is in full working order and was rewired about 2 years ago to modern cable and switch. It stands 51cm high. The base is 41cm long. Overall length with sails in place is 46cm. I have left the two bulbs in place, however these are of course fragile and there can be no guarantee that they will not be damaged in transit. They are readily available bayonet bulbs. This is an Original Art Deco Wooden Boat Nautical Table Lamp and Glass Globe Lampshade. A really interesting old and original lamp. This lamp would have originally had 2 hide or skin lampshades over two bulb holders. These old skin shades go brittle and dry out from bulb heat and were lost years ago. This lamp has been refinished and fitted with a period Glass globe white lampshade fitted on a modern chromed 3 screw gallery. The lamp base is made from wood and has a highly stylised sweeping Art Deco shape. The fittings are all original and brass/copper apart from the chromed “funnel” which was used to plug an old bulb holder hole. The wooden base has lovely graining with a clever use of more intense graining on the hull section. The old wiring has been discarded and the lamp is now fitted with a Brass bulb holder which has an earth fitted under and earthed modern wiring. The lamp works perfectly via its modern in line on/off switch. Please see my images for details. This lamp is very well made and has an iconic and period design. Condition is good for age, it is in used condition w ith just a few very small mark s and the odd mark in the wooden finish. There are stains at fitting entry points and tannish and marks to the brass. Overall condition is original there are marks and general signs of use and age. There are signs of forming and manufacture and some fine finishing marks. The glass lampshade has a couple of manufacturing marks but is free of damage. The wiring set up is earthed & modern – t he lamp works well. PLEASE SEE MY IMAGES FOR DETAILS. Overall Height is 26 Cm and the lamp is 42.5 Cm Long x 11 Cm Wide at the base. It is made from solid wood, possibly oak. It’s a very well made piece with such a great nautical look. The sails don’t have any holes in and they are wonderfully clean and do attach to the mast. It has a lovely quirky blue push switch to the base which I really like and a bakelite fitting, this would look fantastic rewired with a nice fabric flex cable. The base measures approximately 14.75 inches by 6.25 inches, the mast is approximately 17 inches tall. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
