This striking European Art Deco accent lamp features a symmetrical pair of reclining Pierrot acrobats balancing a luminous alabaster globe atop their raised feet. The figures are rendered in metallic silvered art metal wearing detailed ruffled collars and skullcaps, with delicate carved faux-ivory (ivorine) faces. The sphere rests on their soles and lifts off to reveal an internal single-bulb light source that diffuses a warm glow through the natural alabaster stone veining. Mounted on a sleek, beveled dark marble plaque base, this piece embodies the theatrical contortionist and circus motifs popular during the French Art Deco movement. Fitted with its original braided/twisted two-strand cloth cord. The lamp turns on and functions perfectly as shown in photos.
