Beautiful original Art Deco table lamp “BUDAPEST MARBLE”. Around 1930 – 1940. Beautiful and elegant original brass fitting with great antique patina. Original opal glass, cream-colored, marbled with fantastic lighting effect. The lamp shows clearly visible signs of age and wear. 31 cm, shade diameter approx. Consider size when choosing a seat. Completely tested, fully functional electrical installation. 2 x new German E14 standard socket, up to max. 6 watt LED bulbs. New brass socket holder. PVC supply cable (gold) with cord intermediate switch. With LED lamps, a significantly higher light output is possible due to the lack of heat development! Please note: Always change the lamp with the mains plug unplugged. Overall, the lamp shows clearly visible signs of age and wear – this is not a new lamp! Approximately 10 5/8″ Diameter x 8″ Tall. Gorgeous antique Art Deco machine age ceiling light fixture from the 1930s-40s era. The light has been fully cleaned and polished and has a new 2 bulb socket cluster and wires installed as the old electrics were beyond the point of saving. There are a few minor pieces of hardware replaced new as well, a few of the original nuts and chrome beauty caps were too rusty to save, overall the reconditioning of the fixture looks wonderful and ready for immediate installation. CONDITION DETAILS- There is some mild age patina/speckling in the chrome ceiling mounting cap (pictured) but overall still holds its wonderful original chrome shine. The original thick glass shade is in magnificent condition overall. There is a few natural line striations and air bubbles within the glass from the manufacturing process and also a BB sized indent on the top rim (pictured) which appears to be a tooling/mold impression as well. The antique white interior enameling of. The shade is in wonderful condition as well. PLEASE NOTE- This light is a small to medium size perfect for hall ways, closets etc. This fixture will use the mini/stubby type bulb size to fit within the shade, regular standard sized bulbs will not fit down within the shade. Spectacular, highly collectible piece of authentic 1920s-1930s European Art Deco lighting. This striking figural lamp features two acrobatic Pierrot characters (the classic melancholic Czech jesters) in a symmetrical, feet-up contortionist pose, while balancing a sphere on their soles. The sleek, machine-age lines and high-contrast materials make this a prime example of high-style Deco design. Provenance & Markings: This piece features an authentic, period-correct stamped country of origin mark (“Slovakia” / “Czechoslovakia”) incised on the raw underside of the heavy black stone base, preserved beneath the remnants of the original protective felt. This mark firmly dates the piece to the peak 1930s European Art Deco export boom, ensuring its status as a genuine period antique rather than a modern reproduction. Figures: Highly polished cast metal/spelter with a brilliant silvered/chrome-plated finish, exhibiting a beautiful period patina. Shade: A genuine, hollow-carved alabaster globe shade (not molded or frosted glass). Features beautiful natural, translucent veining that diffuses light into a soft, warm, moody glow. Base: Thick, heavy slab of polished black stone marble with crisp beveled edges. Features its original porcelain-insulated candelabra socket and aged cardboard insulator sleeve. Equipped with a period-correct, dark brown ribbed Leviton Bakelite inline toggle switch (6A-125V, 3A-250V) with Underwriters Laboratories UND. Stamps, dating to the late 1930s. Fitted with its original braided/twisted two-strand cloth cord. The lamp turns on and functions perfectly as shown in photos. The silvered finish on the figures remains bright with minor age-appropriate surface patina. The marble base is solid and clean. The alabaster shade has incredible natural stone variance and sits on the figures’ feet without removal. As with all true vintage lighting, the original cloth wiring shows light fraying near the switch; it is recommended that buyers may want to rewire to meet modern safety codes! If it needs to be rewired then do so and have it stay out for a beautiful display piece.

Circa 1930s – 1940s, this antique lighting fixture is a gorgeous find indeed. The highly detailed frosted green enameled glass shade with clear glass accents are a wonderful combination. The design is very characteristic of the Art Deco Nouveau lighting design of that era. This unique piece is sure to add a touch of sophistication and originality to your home while providing functional lighting for decades to come. MEASUREMENTS- 10 1/4″ Diameter at the shade x 9 1/2″ Tall from ceiling to the bottom of the light. CONDITION- Original/Reclaimed- The original antique glass shade, porcelain base and socket/wires are originals. The hanging chains we had replaced as one was missing and the other two were heavily patina’d and very unsightly. CONDITION DETAILS- There are a few very tiny natural air bubbles within the glass and a few scrapes and scuffs from use in the green enamel/shade. There is some slight normal edge roughing on the top rim as well as a flaked shale chip on the inner top rim and one tiny shale chip by one of the chain port holes (pictured). All imperfections are very superficial in nature and to be expected for a light this age.
