Vintage Montgomery Ward model 14 RA-86-7281 Insta-Glo Pressure Lantern 1930-1935
This lantern was made by the Akron Lamp Company Akron Ohio USA. This heavy lantern weighs 3.05kg or 6lb 2oz. This model was made from 1930 through to 1935. The Lantern burns White Gas, Coleman fuel or Shellite. The fitted Insta-Glo generator is correct for this lantern. Lantern is fitted with a green lettered Pyrex glass originally it would have been fitted with a mica globe. This lantern would be a great addition to any collection. The lantern is as presented in the photos and has the patina created over time. I have cleaned the lantern but the previous owner had polished and lacquered the brass tank. The brass tank with steel bottom is in excellent order without dents. The steel hood is sound and in good order there is some chipping as seen in the photos. If the new owner desires to enhance the lantern further there is no damage to be repaired on this lantern. I have not operated this lantern, it has been on the shelf for several years. Before use I suggest a complete check of the lantern should be carried out. Rubber seals and pump leather can dry out over time. The lantern will be packed securely but I cannot guarantee the glass to survive the journey via the Post.
