Rare Art Deco Table Lamp Female Water Bearer signed by Harwil
This is a lovely lamp that I found at an estate sale. I’m not entirely sure if this is also terracotta, but it’s certainly a pottery of some sort. The cord and light work as they should, but the cord is an older make and should probably be replaced. This did not have a shade that could come with it. This lamp is different from the other I found insofar that the light-bulb part seems to extend higher. This makes me wonder if the lamp part of this was replaced at some point, or if this is the original design. From base to the top of the vase on the maidens shoulder, this measures 21.5 inches in height, the light section extends an additional 13.5″ bringing the total height to 35″. The base has a diameter of around 6. There are some signs of wear on this piece as it wasn’t stored in the best location. There are some whitish marks along the outside of the figure, along with some chips along the base. There also appears to be a crack of some sort on the bottom but it doesn’t carry on to any other part of the figure which makes me wonder if it occurred during the firing process.
