Markel Machine Age Deco Desk Lamp
The Markel Company of Buffalo, NY clearly produced the finest and most sought-after table and desk lamps. These lamps clearly define the concept of Machine Age Deco. While being utilitarian, they offered the novelty of something that looked smart and very futuristic. This particular lamp is in fair condition as seen in my photographs. Please zoom in on all of the pictures. It is an excellent candidate for a restoration project. The paint and metal is scratched. The lamp is a little wobbly and will need to be tightened/straightened. It is coming up on hitting the 100 year old antique mark. This would be a great piece of history for someone with the ability to bring it back to its original glory. The silver strips on the base are in better shape than most. The cord is cloth.
