Art Deco Fighter Plane + Air Ship Lamp RARE! Perfect Condition
I bought this from an Art Deco dealer in an ADSW (Art Deco Society of Washington) show in DC about 30 years ago. I never could figure out what fighter plane this was made to represent. I recently took this lamp to the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading Pennsylvania. The men there were not sure of which plane it is, however, they said it would have had a V-12 engine, with probably two men on board. Could have been a 1938 Spitfire or Messerschmitt. With the glass airship globe, which was used by both sides in the war, it was definitely made in the 30’s. The lamp has been rewired in its catalin light bulb housing, and the switch works perfectly! The whole lamp is perfect with no flaws! Please ask questions or for more pictures. I doubt you will find this hardly anywhere, even if another one still exists? Thanks for your interest!
