CZECH 1930s ART DECO GLASS DESK TABLE LAMP SCARCE DESIGN! WELL PRESERVED COND
ART DECO GLASS DESK TABLE LAMP SCARCE DESIGN! A very nice example of a vintage retro Czech art deco table or desk lamp. The stem looks to be chrome or some kind of metal which is in very good condition. The stem is already very bright with only very light surface scratches and minor age related wear to the patina, but would probably polish up even brighter. The shade is made of a lovely light blue smokey glass with reddish – auburn marbled streaks running through it. Attached onto a hard black base which could be bakelite or some sort of similar dense material which is patterned in an art deco style. The wire has been clipped so it would need rewiring. The wiring looks to be three small white wires placed together… So that might be indicative of the age. Underneath there are several markings and it does say 40W 250V stamped on the underplate. Also possibly ESC with the S being larger in the middle and curling round the E and the C….. Could this be the makers mark? I have no idea if the lamp works but the bulb fitting looks to be in very good order. The glass shade has survived very well with no damage, cracks or chips. So overall a very attractive example of a 1930s art deco Czech glass desk or table lamp which would also make a great conversation piece.
