Art Deco Lady Lamp with Globe Enrique Molins-Balleste Woman Holding Globe
This is an Art Deco female figural gilt bronze table lamp made by Enrique Molins-Balleste. It has a frosted glass globe and stands on a black base. The entire lamp measures approximately 23″ tall including the base, which is a 4″ tall base x 3-1/2 wide base; it is in perfect working condition. Enrique Molins-Balleste was born in Barcelona, a Spanish artist who later moved to Paris. It would appear that Molins and Balleste are one and the same artist and he would use either Molins or Balleste to sign his pieces. Some same figures are signed Molins whilst the other is signed Balleste, or BAL, and some, like this one, were unsigned. Famous for his beautiful and artistic figural lighting, he also made many sculptures using wood. The previous owner of this lamp obtained it from the owner of the jewelry store in whose window the lamp spent most of its life. This is why the globe is painted with the following words on one side: “Home of the good luck wedding ring”. It is in excellent, working, antique condition.
