Antique vintage 1930s Eileen Gray Jumo art deco lamp grey/green and chrome
This is a lovely original Eileen Gray designed lamp manufactured by the French company Jumo in the prewar era. It was designed in 1934. It’s a beautifully elegant and functional design that epitomises the style of the art deco era. This particular lamp is a very presentable condition for its age. It has a few imperfections to the paintwork on the corrugated steel and a couple of small dents (which aren’t particularly noticeable in most lights). The gold plating has worn thin in some areas on the metalwork. It pivots from the base, but it is a little loose, so tends to drop down once it reaches a certain angle. It is perfectly stable when upright. It functions perfectly well, but as with all vintage electrical items, I’d recommend you get it tested and rewired if necessary by a qualified electrician. It’s fitted with a European 2-pin plug. I will include a European adaptor for free, but you could obviously put a UK plug on it if you prefer. Please have a good look at the photos.
