This beautiful, graceful figurine is an original French Art Deco mood lamp with glass shade. The figure of a lady holding the lamp bowl has lovely detail in the design. Her face and hands are in ivorine which stand out against the bronze paint finish of her gown. There is some wear (as seen in the photos) to the ivorine finish on her finger tips of her right hand, and her finger nail paint has worn, this could be easily touched up if desired. Her dress is still in lovely condition with very little sign of wear. The glass bowl lamp holder in the lady’s hand has a gold flash across it as seen in the photo and the finish on the bowl holder is a little worn with a generally dull patina of age, this is not really noticable as it’s on the underside. The glass bowl is pale pink with gold rings which are still in good condition. The veined marble top of the base is set onto a second piece of marble, the marble I see in nice condition with just one small nibble on one edge, this is hardly noticable. The figurine is firmly attached to the base with a nut. The nut looks like it has possibly been replaced in the past, but I don’t know for sure, please see photo. Height approx 29.5cm-30cm to top of glass bowl Marble base 24cm x 10.5cm at widest points. The ladies hand protudes approx 4cm wider than the base on one side and the globe is approx 4cm wider from base on the other side. The lamp does work but the wiring appears very old and the inline switch could well be original as the button looks similar to bakealite. As with all vintage electrical pieces you are advised to get this checked by a qualified electrician and have it tested/rewired to your own country safety standards.
