SCOTTISH TERRIER lamp VINTAGE 1930’S cast metal Scotty DOG art deco table light
Circa 1930’s Scottish Terrier dog table lamp. Only one I have ever seen. The shade holder is made of cast brass metal tubing with a bamboo like shape. The bake lite switch is original. 7 inch high by 8 1/2 inch long and 3 1/2 inch wide. Original opaque round glass lamp shade to this lamp. The dog is original to this lamp also. The dog is black in color though there is much age residue or dirt on the surface of both the dog and the lamp. I bought this lamp like this and have not attempted to restore the electrical’s, I will leave that to the new owner. OLD ELECTRIC CORD IS TOO OLD TO BE USED ANYMORE. Not tested, new wiring required because this lamp is 70 years old. Glass is not broken with no cracks. HEAVY TARNISH TO THE OLD CHROME PLATED SURFACE OF THE BRASS CASTINGS. Left thumb screw holding white opaque round glass lamp shade screws off, the RIGHT thumb screw does not unscrew. Inside the glass shade is the old original brass light bulb holder: that type of bulb holder is the very old type of push & turn light bulb no longer used in America. New owner will need to have new wiring & new light bulb socket installed if owner wants this to work again. That type of push and twist light bulb is not available anymore in USA, though that type of light bulb is still available outside USA & if new owner wants a 220 volt one, I can send one for free with the dog lamp if you let me know you want a new light bulb. Original bakelite on & off switch is not tested to see if it works or not. Dog is original to this lamp, all parts are original. No recent or past alterations have been made. Likely this lamp was made in Britain pre WW 2. Surface of brass parts have green verdirigis patina from oxidation. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC Vintage old items This is the real goods.
